Audience Response Systems (ARS)
also referred as Electronic Voting Systems, Electronic Testing Systems etc
ARS have made great improvements since things
started becoming digital and wireless. Previously we used to have very expensive wired systems
that were generally a part of permanent installations. Now a days wireless Systems are being used
for big gatherings of thousands and in education institutions for tests and other meetings. These
days a typical wireless ARS consists of a computer with special software and ports to connect
signal receivers and many small ( a little larger than a credit card) remote transmitters with
buttons for multi choice selections. The presentation slides for the audience response can be
tailored according to the needs. It can simply True false, Yestno or bsatin choices or selection
of right or wrong answers. The response of the audience can instantly be recorded and displayed on
the screen with many type of charts, tables etc. We can also have information of each
audience recorded and can find out how any individual or groups responded. There are quite a
few manufacturers of ARS and we are waiting for detailed articles posted by manufacturers around
the globe.
